Privacy policy

Applies to the Dikta app and the dikta.nu website · Last updated 18 August 2026 · Svenska

Dikta transcribes audio entirely on your own device. No audio and no text ever leaves your computer. We collect no usage data, no telemetry, no diagnostic information and no personal data.

The Dikta app

All speech recognition runs on your own computer. The audio you dictate is processed locally and never leaves the device. There is no account, no API key and no transcription service involved.

Your settings, custom dictionary, text templates and transcription history are stored locally on your machine:

This information is available only to you and is not shared with anyone. History can be exported or cleared from within the app at any time.

Network connections

Dikta makes exactly two kinds of network request, and neither carries anything you dictate:

Audio is never uploaded. There is no analytics endpoint, no crash reporter and no update check that carries usage data.

Log files

Dikta writes a local log to help diagnose problems. It records what the application did — model loading, device selection, errors — and not what you dictated. The log stays on your machine unless you choose to send it to us with a support request.

Purchases

Your purchase and licence are handled by the Microsoft Store or the Apple App Store. Those stores collect payment and tax information under their own privacy policies. Dikta has no access to that information and stores no payment details.

The dikta.nu website

The website is deliberately simple. We collect no personal data through the site and use no tracking cookies. The animation showing how Dikta works is a pre-recorded illustration — it does not record anything.

Children

Dikta is a general productivity tool and is not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone, regardless of age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version is published on this page with a new date. Dikta's local-only design is the product, so material change is unlikely.
